1. The Greater Himalayas or Himadri.
This range forms a great wall along the northern border of India All the high peaks of Himalayas are located in this range ,these peaks are snow covered throughout the year.
2. The middle Himalayas or Himachal
The middle Himalayas or Himachal lie to the south of greater Himalayas. The peaks are not as high as in the himadri, this region has some of the most beautiful hill stations.
3. The lesser Himalayas or shivalik ranges.
South of middle Himalayas lie in the shivalik ranges . The slopes of these mountains are covered with thick forests and which sport a variety of wildlife.
