The Himalayas has been divided from north to south as following:

The Shiwaliks = youger one
The lesser Himalayas
The Greater Himalayas
The Trans Himalayas = the oldest

These are young to old respectively as well as short to tall ranges respectively.
It has been divided on the basis of it’s height and existance.
When the Indian Plateau collided to the Asian Continent, the Trans Himalayan ranges where the first to form also they were the tallest ranges to be formed and then the other ranges arose.

the answer is

the himadri:it is the northern most range of the youngest himalayan mountains . it contains most of the highest peaks like Mt . EVEREST,Konchenjunga etc.

the Himanchal: it is also known as the lesser Himalayas .this range lies to the south of the Himalaya. almost all the hill stations such as shimla, nainital and manali all located along the range.

The siwaliks: this is the outer most range of the Himalaya. these ranges are made up of the sediments which are brought down from the rivers flowing from the northern. himalayan ranges. The valleys which separate the lesser Himalaya and the siwaliks are called duns or doons, like dehra dun, patli dun, kotli dun.
