Sri Chaitanya was a hindu saint who had both hindu and muslim disciples.
He lived during the time when the Bhakti and Sufi movements were popular. The Sufi saints believed that God is full of love and the only way to reach Him is through love and devotion. The Bhakti movement taught values like love for God, humanity, compassion and mercy towards all living beings. They told people that God is for all. God does not discriminate.
