Answer:eography has great influence on various aspects of our life. Geography influences the way we look, the food we eat and the clothes we wear. India shows great diversity; in terms of geographical features. Following are some examples of diversity which resulted because of difference in geographical features.

Jammu and Kashmir is a cold place because of its proximity to the Himalayas. So, people of Jammu and Kashmir are fair-skinned and generally tall. Because of the cold climate, people usually wear warm clothes.

History also influences diversity. Many food items which we consume have come from different countries. Long before noodles became favourite in India, vermicelli (semiya) has been in use in our country. Like noodles; vermicelli has its origin in China. Potato, tomato, red chilli and many other vegetables came from different countries.

Since ancient times, people have been travelling from one part of the world to another. Most of the people travelled for trade, but many also travelled as pilgrim. The travelers brought with them their food, clothes, culture and religion.

The local people made those things a part of their daily life. As a result, we started eating new kinds of food and wearing new kinds of clothes. Many people also became followers of new religions. Following examples of Ladakh and Kerala show this.

The historical and geographical factors that influence the diversity of INDIA, are connected to each other

Explanation:

  • The history of many places tells us how various cultural factors have contributed to influencing life and society. Regional diversity often happens as individuals adapt their life to the geographical environment in which they live. This makes them diversified due to their diverse background.
  • For example, Ladak, a desert in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir's eastern part . This area gets little rain and has been covered with snow for most of the year, so there is very little agriculture. It was considered as a successful trade route as many passes were traveled along by caravans to what is today called Tibet. They carried textiles, herbs, carpets, and raw silk. Through Ladakh, Buddhism entered Tibet. Ladakh is also referred to as Little Tibet . More than four hundred years ago, Islam was founded in this area and there is a significant Muslim population here
  • Kerala is a south-western state of India. To one side, the sea is dominated by the hills. A variety of spices are grown on the slopes, such as cinnamon, cloves and cardamoms. This region is attractive to merchants because of its spices. The first to come here were Arab,  Jewish and Christian merchants. Kerala people follow various faiths such as  Islam, Judaism Christianity, and Hinduism Buddhism because of the numerous historical backgrounds that they have.
  • The Chinese and Arab merchants influenced both regions. It was Kerala geography that allowed spice cultivation and the special geo-location  of Ladakh and its wool  attracted tradesmen in these regions. Hence we can say the history and geography are therefore often bound up in a region's cultural life.
