the earlier manufactured mirrors were the pieces of polished stones. parabolic mirrors were described and studied in classical antiquity by the mathematician diodes in his work on burning mirrors. In china people began making mirrors with the use of silver mercury amalgams as early as 500AD. In 16th century, venice, a big city formed for its glass making expertise, became a centre of mirror production using this new technique.

In olden days people used water in a vessel as a mirror.

Later glass mirrors came into existence and which then lead to the discovery of parabolic mirrors.

It is said that Archimedes had used parabolic mirrors to burn a ship by concentrating the light.

Late spherical mirrors was discovered.

This spherical mirror when cut gives two types of mirrors such as concave and convex mirrors which created an enormous change in human civilization.

These mirrors are useful in dentistry, rear view mirrors in vehicles, telescope and in making many inventions.

So the invention of spherical mirror improved human society.
