Given info : The horizontal range of a projectile fired at an angle of 15° is 50m.

To find : If it is fired with the same speed, what is the maximum range that can be obtained ?

solution : Range of projectile is given by, R = u²sin2θ/g

here, R = 50 m, θ = 15° and g = 10 m/s²

so, 50 = u² × sin(2 × 15°)/10

⇒1000 = u²

⇒u = 10√10 m/s

now maximum horizontal range will be R = u²/g

= (10√10)²/10

= 1000/10

= 100 m

Therefore the maximum horizontal range is 100m.
