The first harmonic or fundamental wavelength is then
L = y / 2 where L is the length of the pipe and y is the wavelength.
The length of the pipe will be an integral number of half-wavelenths.
Or L = y / 2 for the first harmonic
L = y for the second harmonic
L = 3 y / 2 for the third harmonic, etc.
so L = n y / 2
The corresponding frequencies are then
f = v / y where v is the speed of sound
then f1 = v / (2 L)
f2 = v / L
f3 = 3 v / (2 (L) etc.
