Answers
The horror looks on Vera’s face made Framton turn over to look who it was. He saw three figures walking towards them in the deepening twilight. A tired brown spaniel kept close to their heels. One of the figures had a coat hanging on his shoulders while the other called out, “I said, Bertie, why do you bound?”. Framton thought that they were ghosts since he believed the story made by Vera and therefore, was frightened by the sight. He grabbed wildly at his stick and hat and rushed out of the house without a word of goodbye or apology.

Answer:
When Framton turned around, he saw in the deepening twilight three figures walking across the lawn toward the window. They all carried guns under their arms and one of them also had a white coat hung over his shoulders. A tired brown spaniel kept close at their heels. They neared the house noiselessly and then a hoarse young voice said. “I say. Bertie, why do you bound?”
