hi,

let the cost of horse be "X".

and the cost of cart be X × 1/3

both of them cost = 1600 RS.

SO,
ACCORDING TO QUESTION.

==>X + X ×1/3 = 1600

==>X + X /3 = 1600

==>3x + X /3 = 1600

==>3x + X = 1600 × 3

==>3x + X = 4800

==>4x = 4800

==>X = 4800/4

==>X = 1200

so,
the cost of horse is 1200 ( X )

and cost of cart is 400 ( X × 1/3 )
