This happens due to heat dissipation and evaporation. The hot water is at a higher temperature than it's surrounding objects and environment.
The water tries to reach the same temperature as the surroundings and starts to lose heat. '
This process is also aided by evaporation of the water molecules and the water begins to cool down.
