The skull is actually composed of twenty two separate bones.

In fact, there are eight cranial bones around the brain as well as fourteen facial and jaw bones in the human skill.

It is neither just two bones and top of the head includes everything underneath.

Answer:

The human skull generally consists of twenty-two bones altogether. Out of these twenty-two bones, eight are cranial bones that are present around the brain and it encloses the brain, together called skull or cranium. The remaining fourteen are the facial bones that constitutes the facial structure. The occipital bone, temporal bones, parietal bones, the sphenoid, the ethmoid and the frontal bones form the "facial bones" of our body. The only "movable portion or bone" of our entire face is the "lower jaw bone".
