If we look at its structure it is seen that it has Sp hybridization .

This is because : Beryllium only has two electrons and chlorine has 7 electrons and it needs one .Therefore , it shows sp hybridisation .

But in  in real,the solid state of BeCl2 involves donation of a pair of electrons from the chlorine to a neighboring BeCl2 molecule at a 45 degree angle and this forms  a  coordination bonds with the beryllium in each case .
