Explanation:

Sodium hydrogen carbonate (Na₂HCO₃) is a basic salt because it is made up of a weak acid and strong base.

Reaction:  NH₃ + NaCl + H₂O + CO₂ → NH₄Cl + Na₂HCO₃

[Ammonia] + [Water] + [Carbon Dioxide] → [Ammonium Chloride] + [Baking Soda or Sodium hydrogen carbonate].

2NaHCO₃ →(heat)  Na₂CO₃ + H₂O + CO₂

[Baking Soda] →(heat)  [Sodium carbonate] + [Water] + [Carbon Dioxide]

You have seen above that sodium

carbonate can be obtained by heating baking soda; recrystallisation of

sodium carbonate gives washing soda. It is also a basic salt.

Na₂CO₃ + 10H₂O → Na₂CO₃.10H₂0

Hope it helps :)

OR

Sodium hydrogen carbonate is a basic salt because its parent base is strong(NaOH) and parent acid is weak(H2CO3).

it involves following reactions:-

NaHCO3 is heated to form Na2CO3 + H2O + CO2

then

Na2CO3 (crystallization)> Na2CO3.10H2O(washing soda)

Answer:

A COLD AND COCENTRATED SOLUTION OF SODA CHLORIDE SOLUTION (BRINE) REACT WITH AMMONIA AND CARBON DIOXIDE TO FORM FIRST SODIUM BICARBONATE . ON HEATING SODIUM BICARBONATE , IT DECOMPOSES INTO SODIUM CARBONATE.

1. NACL+ H20+NH3+CO2->NAHCO3+NH4CL

2.NAHCO3 -> NA2CO3(anhydrous ssodium carbonate) +H2O+CO2

3. NA2CO3 + 10 H2O -> NA2CO3.10H20
