so, we find third side by Pythagoras theorem...

Pythagoras theorem = longest side = first side + second side ..

we suppose triangle abc...

so, ac ² = bc² + ab ².

15². = 9² + ab ²

15 ² - 9² = ab ²

225 - 81 = ab ²

ab² = 144

ab ² = ( 12 )²

and now both sides square cancels

ab = 12 cm.
