Let the unknown sides be x,y.
For finding values of two unknowns, we need two equations.
Eqn. 1- x-y=7
Eqn. 2-
 {h}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}
Now hypotenuse is 17 so,
 {h}^{2}  = 289
i.e
 {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  = 289
Now, from Eqn. 1 we can find value of y in terms of x as x=7+y
Put this in the last Eqn. And solve for x.
Then find out Y
