.The hypotenuse of a right angled triangle is 10 cm. The length of the

perpendicular from the vertex to the hypotenuse is 6 cm.​

Given,

Hypotenuse=10cm

Perpendicular=6cm

So Base =?

Now,

(Hypotenuse)²=(Base)²+(Perpendicular)²

Keeping the values given,

10²=(Base)²+6²

100=(Base)²+36

100-36=(Base)²

(Base)²=64

Base=√64

Base=8cm
