we know Pythagoras theorem.. that is h² = b² + p²
where 'h' is the hypotenuse of the right angle triangle, b us the base and p is the perpendicular height.
given here :-
hypotenuse = 17cm
base = 8cm
perpendicular height = ?
=> 17² = 8² + p²
=> 289 = 64 + p²
=> 289 - 64 = p²
=> 225 = p²
=> p = √225
=> p = 15
hence the perpendicular height is 15cm.
