Answer:

the length of other side is 16

20^2=12^2+x^2

400=144+x^2

x^2=400-144

x^2=256

X=√256

X=16

Given :-

  • Hypotenuse (H) = 20m
  • One side (P) = 12m

 \\

To Find :-

  • Second Side (B)

 \\

Solution :-

For finding the Second side , we will apply Pythagoras theorem as it is a Right Angled Triangle.

Using Pythagoras theorem :

➞ (H)² = (P)² + (B)²

➞ (20)² = (12)² + (Base)²

➞ 400 = 144 + (Base)²

➞ 400 - 144 = (Base)²

➞ 256 = (Base)²

➞ √256 = Base

➞ 16m = Base

________________

Verification :-

➞ (H)² = (P)² + (B)²

➞ (20)² = (12)² + (16)²

➞ 400 = 144 + 256

➞ 400 = 400

Hence Verified

________________

Therefore, Second Side of the Right Angled Triangle is 16m
