by using Pythagoras theram we get
(h)^2 = (b)^2 + (p)^2
(17)^2 = (8)^2 + (p)^2
289=64+(p)^2
289-64 =(p)^2
225=(p)^2
$\sqrt{225} = {p}$
$p = \sqrt{15 \times 15} \\ p = 15$
hence other side is 15cm
