Therefore, by Pythagoras theorem

(hypotenuse)²=(1st side)² + (2nd side)²

let us consider,

1st side = 2nd second = x

(10)² = (x)² + (x)²

(10)² = 2(x)²

100/2 = (x)²

x = √ 50 = 5√2

As if we consider

x= base of triangle = height = 5√2

Area of triangle = 1/2(base)(height)

= (1/2)(5√2)(5√2)

= (1/2)(25x2)

= 25

Hence the Area of given triangle is 25 cm²
