13 cm side A = 5 cm

side B = unknown

By Pythagoras theorem ,

(A)² + (B)² = (hypotenuse) ²

(5)² + (B)² = (13)²

25 + B² = 169

B² = 169 - 25

B² = 144

B = √144

B = 12 cm .
