Answer:

Explanation:

Given :-

m = - 2

v = - 30 cm

u = ?

Solution :-

⇒ - 2 = - (- 30)/u

⇒ u = - 30/2

u = - 15 cm

Hence, The object distance is - 15 cm.

By Mirror formula,

1/v + 1/u = 1/f

⇒ 1/f = - 1/30 - 1/10

⇒ 1/f = - 15 - 30/450

⇒ 1/f = - 45/450

⇒ 1/f = - 1/10

f = - 10 cm

Hence, The focal length is - 10 cm.

If the object is moved 10 cm centimetre towards the mirror, the image will be of the virtual and erect and size will be enlarged.
