If the image formed by a lens inverted and of the same size then the object isplaced at 2F1 of the lens and the image is formed t 2F2.

Given that the distance of the image is 40cm  from the lens so the distance of the object is also 40cm on the same side of the lens.

Given   u=-40cm    v=+40cm

1/f=1/v- 1/u

1/f=1/40 - (-1/40)

1/f= 1/40+1/40

1/f=2/40    1/f=1/20

therefore   f=20cm      0.2m

P=1/f   P=1/.2

P= 5D

the power ofthe lens id 5D and the nature of the lens is converging in nature since is produces real inveted image.
