The image of an object placed 20cm from a concave mirror is formed at a distance of 30 cm from the mirror calculate the possible focal length of the mirror ?​

where

U is object distance

V is image distance

f is focal length

Sign convention for concave mirror

f=-f

V=-V=-30 , U=-U=-20

Now substitute these values in mirror formula

we get

1/-f= 1/-30 -1/20

By solving we get

f=12cm
