The image of the line x+y-2=0 in the y axis is x-y+2=0.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The line equation is  x+y-2=0.

To Find:

The image of the line x+y-2=0 in the y axis.

Formula Used:

Let (x1, y1) and (x2, y2)  are the two points.

The following  equation  is for  line passing through these two points.

(y-y1)=\frac{y2-y2}{x2-x1} (x-x1)   ------------------ formula no.01.

Solution:

As given- The line equation is  x+y-2=0.

As per attached diagram.

The equation of line QP is  x+y-2=0.

Line Q'P is image of line QP.

The equation of line Q'P wil be line passing through points (-2,0) and (0,2).

Applying formula no. 01.

(y-0)=\frac{2-0}{0-(-2)} (x-(-2))

(y-0)=\frac{2-0}{0+2} (x+2)

(y-0)=\frac{2}{2} (x+2)

(y-0)=1(x+2)

y=x+2

x-y+2=0

Thus, the image of the line x+y-2=0 in the y axis is x-y+2=0.
