Article on the effect of sleep disorder on our immune system

Hi, I am aditya and through this article, I take this opportunity to express my thought on effects of sleep disorder on our immune system. Keeping in view the healthy life, sleep plays an important role. While more sleep won’t necessarily prevent us from getting sick, skimping on it could adversely affect our immune system, leaving us susceptible to a bad cold or case of the flu. Without sufficient sleep, our body makes fewer cytokines, a type of protein that targets infection and inflammation, effectively creating an immune response. Cytokines are both produced and released during sleep, causing a double whammy if you skimp on shut-eye.  Sleep loss even makes the flu vaccine less effective by reducing our body’s ability to respond. To stay healthy, especially during the influenza season, seven to eight hours of sleep a night is must for every human being. This will help keep our immune system in fighting shape, and also protect us from other health issues including heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.  If our sleep schedule is interrupted by a busy workweek or other factors, one have to make it for lost rest with naps. Taking two naps that are no longer than 30 minutes each —one in the morning and one in the afternoon—has been shown to help decrease stress and offset the negative effects that sleep deprivation has on the immune system.  Of course, there’s more to boosting our immunity and guarding against illness than getting ample sleep. Lack of sleep seems to be related to an increase in hunger and appetite, and possibly to obesity. As per the latest studies and surveys, those who cut their sleep from seven to five hours or fewer a night nearly doubled their risk of death from all causes. In particular, lack of sleep doubles the risk of death from cardiovascular disease. Lack of sleep can affect our interpretation of events. This hurts our ability to make sound judgments because we may not assess situations accurately and act on them wisely. The impact of sleep disorders can have far-reaching health implications including increased risk of drowsy-driving-related motor vehicle accidents, increased risk of a broad range of chronic disease states such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, obesity, cardiovascular disease, depression and even cancer, and several other chronic diseases. During the night, various sleep cycles play a role in “consolidating” memories in the mind. If we don’t get enough sleep, we will not be able to remember what we learned and experienced during the day. Sleep-deprived men and women report lower libidos and less interest in sex. Depleted energy, sleepiness, and increased tension may be largely to blame. Sometimes we observe that sleep-deprived persons experience sallow skin and puffy eyes after a few nights of missed sleep. But it turns out that chronic sleep loss can lead to lackluster skin, fine lines, and dark circles under the eyes. So I wish to submit here for information of all that sleeping disorder is really a very dangerous problem and therefore,  a good sleep of at least 7-8 hours is must for boosting our immunity and we should not ignore the importance of a good sleep in our life.

I hope all will like my article

thank you.

Article on the effect of sleep disorder on our immune system.

Explanation:

Effect of sleep disorder on our immune system. By Aditya.

Humans are social beings who require a lot of many things to maintain their health and well being. One such important point is sleep, getting proper and enough sleep. This habit helps in ways we may not even think capable of.

Sleep is one of the vital things required for the well being of a person. And for healthy living, getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep is a must or recommended. This habit not only provides rest for the body physically and mentally, but it also does work within the body which we may not be aware of. While we sleep, killer cells are generated. These cells are vital for the body to fight against the diseases or any health complications that try to attack the body. If a person has a sleeping disorder, then the chance to generate these essential killer cells is removed. It then makes him prone to any attack from the outside particles, and susceptible to many illnesses. The body becomes weak, as it no longer possesses the cells that can help fight these attacks. And it then may even lead to the death of the person.

Sleep is a must for all beings, not only because it provides respite from the everyday tiring schedule but also for the killer cells to be formed. The immune system constructs itself while the body rests and sleeps. So, it is important that we help in building our bodies, our immune system by getting proper sleep every day.
