For many years, music has been an effective alternative method of teaching for oral skills. It has been identified that music helps in improving academic skills such as grammar and vocabulary. Music helps in reinforcing mental ability and acts as a great source of motivation. However, in language, the relation of music remains a bit indirect. As to what we hear, read and write is understood ins some context through music. Through music oral skills are developed as the listener can listen to the music and read along the lyrics which helps in acquiring pronunciation skills. Further, it helps in improving understanding ability. Music in oral skills helps in creating an enjoyable and fun environment which facilitates learning effectively.
