Goitre is a very most known disease , it spreads due to the lack of iodine in body.

The muscles in thyroid glands swell and make it harder to move /rotate neck.

Himalaya is a region on high altitude , Therefore it is much more above sea level compared to the other parts of the country . This difference leads to the lack of salt consumption and salt is a best example of iodine . Therefore Goitre is a disease commonly seen in the region of higher altitude such as Himalyas.
