The incircle of a triangle ABC touches the sides BC,CA, AB at D,E,F respectively. If
AB = AC. Prove that BD = CD.​

Given: AB = AC. ........(1)

To Prove: BD = CD.

Proof: BD = BF ........(2)[Tangents drawn

AE = AF. .........(3)from external

CE = CD .........(4)point of a circle

are equal]

now, AB = AC

AF + BF = AE + CE (AF = AE from - 1)

SO, BF = CE

( BF = BD & CE = CD )

BD = CD

HENCE PROVED
