3x/2x=5y/3y
ratio of income. ratio of expenditure
3x-5y=1000
2x-3y=1000
by elimination
2(3x-5y=1000)
3(2x-3y=1000)
6x-10y=2000
6x-9y=3000
6x-10y=2000
-6x+9y=-3000
-y=-1000
y=1000
6x-10000=2000
6x= 12000
x=2000
therefore a's income =3x = 3×2000=6000
