Let the income of 1st person be 11x and income of 2nd person be 7x

Ratio of Expenditure = 9 : 5

We know, Income - saving = expenditure

Hence, Saving = Rs 440 [ Given ]

Applying formula,

 \frac{11x - 440 }{7x - 440 } = \frac{9}{5} \\ \\ 5( 11x - 440 ) = 9( 7x - 440 ) \\ \\ 55x - 2200 = 63x - 3960 \\ \\ 3960 - 2200 = 63x - 55x \\ \\ 1760 = 8x \\ \\ \frac{1760}{8} = x \\ \\ 220 = x

Hence, Income of 1st person = 11x = 11( 220 )

=> Rs 2420

Income of 2nd person = 7x = 7( 220 ) = Rs 1540
