Answer:

Given :-

The incomes of A and B are in the ratio 3:2

Their expenditures are in the ratio 5:3.

Each saves RS.1000.

To find :- Income of B.

Solution :-

Let A 's income be x and that of B 's be y.

According to first statement ,

x / y = 3 / 2

Therefore , 2x - 3y = 0 ..............(1)

Each saves 1000.

Then according to second statement ,

x - 1000 / y - 1000 = 5 : 3

3x - 3000 = 5y- 5000

-3000 + 5000 = 5y - 3x

2000 = 5y - 3x .................(2)

Multiply equation 1 by 3 .

6x - 9y = 0

Multiply equation 2 by 2.

10y - 6x = 4000

Adding both equations we get,

10y - 6x = 4000

-9y + 6x = 0

------------------------

y = 4000

Substituting y = 4000 in equation 1

2x - 3y = 0

2x - 12000 = 0

2x = 12000

x = 6000

Answer :- Income of B is 4000
