Answer:

S income = 3a

R income = 4a

R and S expenditure = y

Savings S = 3a - y = 4000

Savings R = 4a - y = 22000

Subtracting the equations:

4a - y - ( 3a - y ) = 22000 - 4000

4a - y - 3a + y = 18000

4a - 3a = 18000

a = 18000

S income = 3a

               = 3 * 18000

               = 54000 Rs.
