R income = 4a
R and S expenditure = y
Savings S = 3a - y = 4000
Savings R = 4a - y = 22000
Subtracting the equations:
4a - y - ( 3a - y ) = 22000 - 4000
4a - y - 3a + y = 18000
4a - 3a = 18000
a = 18000
S income = 3a
= 3 * 18000
= 54000 Rs.
