The Indian Appropriation Act of 1851 forced the Native Americans to move and live on reservations.

Native people found more and more restrictions for continuing their traditional hunting soon after the act get amended. The United States government had introduced wheat flour, grease and sugar in the diets of the tribal people which made them to quit their traditional food habits.

Natives were even restricted for fishing which was one of their important hunting habit for centuries.
