Unethical Practices adopted by MNC:

The Indian Government neglected the attempt by MNC to patent the antiseptic property of curcumin derived from Turmeric.

The unethical practices adopted by the MNC companies are as follows:

  • They buy the patent rights for the product and sell to other countries for money.
  • The MNC companies after obtaining the patent, will increase the cost of the product in such a way that it couldn’t be afforded by poor and moderate people.
  • They convert the service into paid business.

Due to such activities of the MNCs, the native people who found the product are forged to become the slaves of the developed Countries who obtain the patent from the native people. The Government must make this crime a highly punishable one such that MNCs will stay away from such malpractices.
