As we know plains are good to live
there are many reasons to call it as food bowl
1.soil:if the soil is alluvial then there is a plenty of chances for high production of food grains.alluvial soil is best classified soil in india
2.climatic conditions:the climatic conditions must satisfy to agriculture resource.in India we are dependent on monsoon so rain is much more cause for food production in india
3.Rivers And Canals:there must be good irrigation system through canals as water in canal come from river.So lot more is dependent on food production.
IN,India,gangetic plains are food bowl.Oh yes,Punjab and Haryana are also called food bowl of India as all above points are full sill there

In short, the Indian plains are very fertile due to the silt and alluvium brought about by the rivers. Due to its fertility,agriculture thrives here. Therefore it produces a major part of food for India .
