The reason behind the defeat of many Indian rulers in 18 century is that there was lack of unity among rulers. There was not the feeling of nationalism among them. And great rulers like nizam of Hyderabad and others actively supported the British. Indian rulers became lazy and allied with the British. They were not interested in governing the community. Because they were already leading extravagant lives
