RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INDUCTANCE AND RELUCTANCE
The inductance of a coil is INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL to the reluctance of magnetic path.
KEY POINTERS TO INDUCTANCE AND RELUCTANCE:
*The fact that a thing resists a force (or a field) does not rule out the possibility of storing energy connected with the force's operation.
* In fact, this is frequently (although not always) the case, because in order to energize a thing, a force must normally perform some work on it, presumably overcoming some resistance.
*Although the inductance opposes current increase, we may (loosely) state that the inductor stores magnetic field and hence magnetic energy.
*The reluctance reduces the magnetic flux and hence the inductance, which is the ratio of flux and current, at any given current level.
* As a result, a magnetic circuit with a higher reluctance should have less resistance to the rising current, resulting in a weaker magnetic field with reduced magnetic energy.
