  • Time taken by the battery to reach 9/10 th of its maximum will be 2.3 seconds.

Given-

  • Inductance of solenoid = 5 Henry
  • Resistance of solenoid = 5 ohm
  • Voltage of battery = 10 volt

We know that -

I = I₀ [ 1 - e^ -Rt/L] where R is the resistance, L is inductance and t is time.

So,

I = I₀ [ 1 - e^ -Rt/L] = 9/10

By putting the values of inductance and resistance we get-

I/I₀ = [1 - e^ -5t/5 ] = 9/10

e ^-t = 1/10

e^ t = 10

or t = 2.3 seconds
