This trend is also seen India. For e.g. when first cotton mill was set up in Bombay (now Mumbai) in India in 1856, a large number of workers migrated from Gujarat and Maharashtra to Bombay for employment. Similar case happened when first jute mill was set up in Rishra (near Kolkata) in 1859 and when first cement industry was set up in Chennai in 1904.

If we talk about the present day, we can see whenever there opens a new industry in rural areas especially agro based industry many workers go in that area for work. And even poor farmers go in that area for work in the seasons where there is not work in the fields.
