The industries in an area used up the tube well water excessively. It was found that most of the trees in that area dried up. What could be the cause for this ?

Tubewell brings up ground water. Excessive use of tubewells lead to depletion of ground water. Trees use ground water for living. Hence depletion of ground water leads to drying of trees of that particular area.
