INERTIA

The inertia of an object tends to cause the object to resist any change in its state of motion.

INERTIA - Inertia is a property of matter by which it continues to stay in its existing position. The object will stay at rest if it is at rest or will stay in motion if the object is already in motion until and unless some external force is applied on it.

There are three types of inertia :-

  1. Inertia of Rest
  2. Inertia of Motion
  3. Inertia of Direction

The inertia of an object tends to cause the object on order  to resist any change in its state of rest or of motion.

Explanation:

  • The physical property of a body is Inertia.
  • It is the property which resists any change in its state, whether it remains in stationary or it is moving.
  • The law of inertia or it is Newton’s first law which give information about the state of the object.
  • Law of Inertia clearly explains that an object will stay at rest and will tends to stay at rest or then an object will remain in motion tends to stay in motion unless some external force is acted.
  • Mass directly has connection with the inertia of an object
  • So it can be said that it resists any change in its state of rest or in state of motion.
  • Three types of Inertia is found. They are the inertia of rest, the inertia of motion, and the inertia of direction.
