The infinite G.P. with first term 1/4 and sum 1/3 is​

Formula for sum of infinite series of GP is :-

S = a/(1-r)

where a is the first term, r is tha common ratio and S is sum.

1/3 = (1/4) / (1-r)

1/3 = 1/4(1-r)

cross multiplication

4 - 4r = 3

4r = 1

r = 1/4

a = 1/4

series:-

a, ar, ar^2, ar^3, ........................ upto infinity

1/4, 1/16, 1/256, .................., upto infinity
