The national institute of nutrition is located at Hyderabad, India and is most famous for it's research and contribution about public health as well as for biotechnology. This institute in located in the Osmania University and was originally established in the 1918 By "Sir Robert McCarrison" I. Most interestingly it was only a one room laboratory when founded and was originally found in Tamil Nadu . The institute was relocated by Indian government towards hyderabad in 1958 when it was only the status of a faculty.

National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) is India’s premier nutrition research institute that works under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The NIN was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 in Coonor, Tamil Nadu, and was later shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.
The main mission of NIN is to allow dedicated research for enabling security of food and nutrition that is required for good health, growth, development, and to increase productivity.
