Given:-

  • The inner diameter of a cylindrical wooden pipe is 24cm.
  • Its outer diameter is 28cm.
  • Length of pipe = 35cm
  • 1cm cube of wood has a mass of 0.6gm.

To find:-

  • Mass of pipe.

Solution:-

Using the formula,

Radius = Diameter/2

Inner radius:-

➺Diameter/2

➺24/2

➺12cm

Outer radius:-

➺Diameter/2

➺28/2

➺14cm

To Find the volume of the wood:-

Volume of pipe = volume of outer cylinder - volume inner cylinder

➺πh(r₁² - r₂²)

➺ π(35)(14² - 12²)

➺5720 cm³

Given that Mass of 1 cm is 0.6 gm

Therefore,

➺Mass of 5720 cm = 5720 × 0.6 gm

➺5720 × 0.6 /1000 kg

3.432 kg

Hence, the mass of pipe is 3.432kg.
