Given:-

The inner sides of a cubical box are of length 4  centimetres.

To Find:-

What is its capacity? How many cubes of  side 2 centimetres can be stacked inside it?

Solution:-

Here, edge length of the cube (a) = 4 cm

Capacity of the given box = Volume of the cube = a³

⇒ (4)³ = 64 cm³

The edge length of the smaller cube (a') = 2 cm

Volume of the smaller cube = (2)³ = 8 cm³

Number of cubes that can be stacked

= Volume of the box /volume of the smaller cube

= (64/8) = 8

Hence, the capacity of the cubical box is 64 cm³ and 8 cubes of side 2 cm can be stacked inside it.
