Answer:
This is because of partial combustion. The innermost zone is the least hot and black in colour. This is due to the presence of unburned wax vapours.

Answer:
1. Hold a thin glass tube with a pair of tongs and introduce one end of this glass tube in innermost zone of candle flame.
2. Now bring a lighted matchstick near the other end of the glass tube.
Conclusion :
We will see that flame at one end of glass tube occurs on the other after this activity is conducted. Some of the wax vapours enter the glass tube and come out from the other end. When we bring a lighted matchstick near this end of glass tube, the wax vapours coming out of it starts burning, producing a flame.
