The interest received by Ramesh  is Rs 20

Solution:

Let the interest received by karim be "x"

Let the interest received by Ramesh be "y"

The interest received by karim is Rs.30 more than that of Ramesh

x = 30 + y ------ eqn 1

The total interest received by them is Rs.70

x + y = 70 ------ eqn 2

Solve eqn 1 and eqn 2

Substitute eqn 1 in eqn 2

30 + y + y = 70

30 + 2y = 70

2y = 70 - 30

2y = 40

Divide both sides by 2

y = 20

Thus interest received by Ramesh  is Rs 20
