Answer:

✍️Pyruvic acid.

✏️ Aerobic respiration is an enzyme-catalyzed reaction which can be grouped into begins with glycolysis in the cytosol.

✏️This intermediate is formed only when the cell has decided to be committed to aerobic respiration.

GLYCOLYSIS AND TCA

Oxygen not required for glycolysis. glycolysis for occurs as a linear sequence and consumes two molecules of ATP for initial phosphorylation of substance molecules.Oxygen is required for krebs cycle .TCA occcurs as a cyclic sequence and its doesn't consume ATP.

THE INTERMEDIATE REACTION BETWEEN GLYCOLYSIS AND TCA CYCLE ACETYL CoA.

EXPLANATION

Cellular respiration is the breakdown of glucose to obtain energy. It has three steps.

  1. Glycolysis
  2. Krebs cycle
  3. Terminal oxidation
  • Glycolysis occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell in which pyruvate molecule are formed, these pyruvate molecules are then transferred to mitochondria through the inner mitochondrial membrane where it undergoes oxidation and forms acetyl CoA with the help of coenzymes and cofactors
  • This step connects both the process of glycolysis and krebs cycle thus called as link reaction.
  • The Acetyl CoA is the intermediate reaction between glycolysis and TCA cycle.
