Given :-

  • The internal dimensions of a closed box made up of iron 1cm thick are 24cm by 18cm by 12cm.

To Find :-

  • The volume of iron in the box.

Solution :-

According to the question,

The volume of iron in the box = {External Volume - Internal Volume.} ....(1)

Internal volume of the closed box

= l×b×h

=24×18×12

=5184 cm³

  • External length of box = 24+(1+1)=26 cm

  • External breadth of box = 18+(1+1)=20 cm

  • External height of box = 12+(1+1)=14 cm

External volume = l × b × h

➝26×20×14

7280 cm³

From 1,

The volume of iron in the box = {External Volume - Internal Volume.}

➝ 7280−5184

2096 cm³
